Key takeaways
  • A Lion costs 29,999 coins: about $312 with coins bought on TikTok's website, about $456 with coins bought in the app. The creator gets about $75.
  • A Rose costs 1 coin, about 1 to 2 cents. The most expensive gift, TikTok Universe, costs 44,999 coins, about $468 on the web or $684 in the app.
  • Coins cost about 25% to 30% less on tiktok.com/coin than in the app, because Apple and Google take a cut of in-app purchases.
  • A gift becomes Diamonds for the creator at about 2 coins to 1 Diamond, worth $0.005 each, so the creator keeps about a quarter of a cent per coin. TikTok publishes neither number.
  • You must be 18 to buy coins or send and receive gifts (19 in South Korea). Free coin generators and "gift me and I'll follow you" offers are scams or against TikTok's rules.

There is no official list of TikTok gift prices, and the coin cost of a gift can differ by country and change without notice. So every gift below is one where at least two gift lists from 2025 or 2026 give the same coin cost, checked on 27 September 2026. The dollar figures use the same coin and Diamond rates as our TikTok money calculator.

Horizontal bar chart of the five biggest well-known TikTok gifts. A Lion, 29,999 coins, costs a viewer about 312 dollars on the web or 456 in the app and pays the creator about 75 dollars. TikTok gift prices: the full table

Viewers buy coins with real money, then spend coins on gifts. So the dollar price of a gift depends on where you bought your coins. Coins from TikTok's website cost about 1 cent each. Coins bought inside the iPhone or Android app cost about 1.5 cents. The last column is roughly what the creator can cash out.

Most of the money is in the small gifts, because people send them all the time. The chart below shows why a Rose barely registers: a Galaxy costs a thousand times more.

How much is a Lion, a Rose and a Universe on TikTok?

Lion. 29,999 coins. Eight lists agree on that number, including one from March 2025, so it has held steady for at least 18 months. In dollars it is about $312 with web coins and about $456 with app coins. Some guides round this to "$450", which is the app price. The creator gets about $75.

Rose. 1 coin, so about 1 cent on the web and 1.5 cents in the app. The creator gets a quarter of a cent. It is the cheapest gift and the one TikTok itself suggests for LIVE goals, because many viewers can afford to join in.

Universe. This is where lists disagree, and the reason is a name. The gift called TikTok Universe costs 44,999 coins in six lists, including the two that copy prices from the app in August and September 2026. A second gift, TikTok Universe+, costs 34,999 coins. Socialrails, Otto AI and InfluenceFlow list a "Universe" at 34,999, and Influencer Marketing Hub listed TikTok Universe at 34,999 in March 2025. So if you read "34,999" elsewhere, that is either the Universe+ or an older price. At 44,999 coins, a TikTok Universe costs about $468 on the web and $684 in the app, and pays the creator about $112.

The most expensive gift. TikTok Universe, at 44,999 coins. ScrollPlay's catalogue, copied from the app on 11 August 2026, lists 2,229 gifts, priced from 1 coin up to 44,999. Pegasus (42,999), Fire Phoenix (41,999) and Thunder Falcon (39,999) come next among gifts that two lists agree on.

TikTok coins price: what coins cost and why the web is cheaper

Coins are TikTok's in-app money. You buy them in bundles, and the price per coin depends on where you buy. The same coins cost about 25% to 30% less on tiktok.com/coin than inside the app. The reason is app store fees: Apple and Google take a cut of up to 30% of purchases made in apps, and TikTok passes that on. Buying on the website skips that cut.

10,000 coinsabout $105about $152Socialrails; app figure is our arithmetic

Web and app prices from Socialrails (updated 22 July 2026) and PCrisk (updated 10 June 2026). App figures for 700, 1,000 and 10,000 coins multiply by $0.0152, the per-coin price of the 65-coin bundle. TikTok's Virtual Items Policy (updated 22 January 2026) says the cost per coin depends on how many you buy and where. Checked 27 September 2026.

Other 2026 guides list slightly different bundles. WaveOfTools (August 2026) gives US bundles from 70 coins for $0.99 up to 17,500 coins for $249.99, about 1.4 cents a coin. The only price list that is certain for you is the one on your own Balance screen, in your own currency.

Two rules from TikTok's Virtual Items Policy matter before you buy. Coins are not refundable. And you cannot sell, trade or transfer coins outside TikTok, so any site offering to top up your account some other way is breaking the rules.

How gifts become Diamonds and cash for the creator

When a creator receives a gift, it shows up in their account as Diamonds, not coins. Guides agree that about 2 coins become 1 Diamond, and that 1 Diamond is worth about $0.005 when the creator cashes out. So each coin a viewer spends is worth about a quarter of a cent to the creator. TikTok's help pages on coins and Diamonds explain the system but give neither number.

Put those steps together and the creator ends up with about 24% of what the viewer paid on the web, or about 16% of what they paid in the app. A viewer who spends $456 in the app on a Lion sends the creator about $75.

You will see bigger numbers in some guides. Otto AI agrees a Lion becomes about 15,000 Diamonds but says they are worth about $225, and BetterTok says a TikTok Universe pays $236 after a 50% fee. Both simply halve what the viewer paid. Socialrails, Influencer Marketing Hub and InfluenceFlow all value a Diamond at $0.005, which gives about a third of those figures. Our money calculator explains the gap and works out any amount of coins or Diamonds for you.

Cashing out has limits. TikTok's payment limits page for the UK and Europe sets a $1 minimum by PayPal, a $1,000 daily maximum and a PayPal fee of 1.5% plus $0.10. Most US guides report a $100 minimum, which is 20,000 Diamonds; we could not confirm that on a TikTok page. Gifts are one of several ways to earn, and our guide to making money on TikTok compares them.

Who can buy coins and send or receive gifts

You must be 18 or older to buy coins, send gifts or receive gifts, and 19 in South Korea. TikTok's Virtual Items Policy says 18 or the age of adulthood where you live, whichever is higher. Its LIVE help page sets the same rule for gifts. Influencer Marketing Hub, SMMNut (June 2026) and TikTokStats (September 2026) all report 18, with 19 in South Korea.

To receive LIVE gifts you also need to be able to go LIVE, which takes 1,000 followers in most regions. Our guide to going LIVE has the full list of rules, and the LIVE Studio guide covers streaming from a computer, where gifts show up in the chat panel.

TikTok LIVE gifts vs Video Gifts

Most gifts are sent during a LIVE stream. Video Gifts are a separate feature that lets viewers send a gift on an ordinary posted video, from the comment section. The coins and Diamonds work the same way. The rules for creators do not.

Having one feature does not switch on the other, TikTokStats notes. A creator with 5,000 followers can earn LIVE gifts but not Video Gifts. Video Gifts are also separate from the Creator Rewards Program, which pays for views, so a creator can earn from both.

How many TikTok gifts are there?

More than a thousand, and no two trackers agree on the count. ScrollPlay lists 2,229 gifts, BetterTok more than 1,400 and Livecade 1,299. The counts differ because TikTok adds gifts for events and holidays, retires others, and shows different gifts in different countries.

That is why the table above sticks to gifts that at least two lists price the same way. To see the real price for your account, open a LIVE, tap the gift icon and read the coin cost under each gift. The number there is the one you will pay.

There are no free coins, and a gift never buys a follow

Sites and videos that promise free coins or a "coin generator" are scams. Security firm Gridinsoft (July 2026) says they make money from surveys, phishing, fake downloads or stolen accounts, and PCrisk says they may install malware or take over your account. Never give anyone your password or a login code for coins. The same goes for LIVE hosts who say "send a gift and I'll follow you back" or promise money in return: TikTok's LIVE rules ban promises made in exchange for gifts, as Influencer Marketing Hub reports. Only send a gift you would be happy to give away for nothing.

For creators: pick a gift goal viewers can reach

If you stream, the table tells you what to ask for. TikTok's own advice for a LIVE goal is a cheap gift in a large number, such as 100 Roses. That is 100 coins, about $1.04 to $1.52 from your viewers combined, and about $0.25 to you. It is small money, but it lets many people take part, and a goal that fills up keeps a stream lively.

It also helps to know what your viewers say about gifting before you ask. With TokConnect connected to your AI agent, you can check that in one request.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a Lion on TikTok?

29,999 coins. That is about $312 if you bought your coins on TikTok's website and about $456 if you bought them in the app, since app coins cost about 1.5 cents each against about 1 cent on the web. The creator who receives it gets about 15,000 Diamonds, worth about $75. Prices can vary by country, so check the coin cost in the gift panel of your own app.

How much is a Rose on TikTok?

1 coin, which is about 1 cent with web coins or 1.5 cents with app coins. The creator gets about a quarter of a cent. It is the cheapest gift, which is why TikTok suggests it for LIVE goals: 100 Roses cost viewers about $1 to $1.50 in total.

What is the most expensive TikTok gift?

TikTok Universe, at 44,999 coins: about $468 with web coins or $684 with app coins, paying the creator about $112. Next come Pegasus (42,999 coins), Fire Phoenix (41,999) and Thunder Falcon (39,999). Some guides list a Universe at 34,999 coins; in 2026 lists copied from the app, that price belongs to a separate gift called TikTok Universe+.

How much do creators get from gifts?

About a quarter of a cent for every coin the gift cost. Guides report that 2 coins become 1 Diamond and that a Diamond cashes out at $0.005, so a 1,000-coin Galaxy pays about $2.50 and a Lion about $75. That is roughly 24% of what the viewer paid on the web and 16% of what they paid in the app. TikTok has not published either rate. Our money calculator works it out for any amount.

How much are 1,000 TikTok coins?

About $10.40 to $10.50 on TikTok's website and about $15.20 in the iPhone or Android app, based on prices Socialrails and PCrisk reported in 2026. The app costs more because Apple and Google take a cut of in-app purchases. Prices differ by country, and your Balance screen shows the current bundles in your currency. Given as gifts, 1,000 coins are worth about $2.50 to the creator.

Can you get TikTok coins for free?

Not through any website, app or "coin generator". Those are scams that collect surveys, install malware or steal accounts, according to security guides from Gridinsoft and PCrisk. TikTok's own rules also forbid buying or trading coins outside TikTok. The only safe coins are ones you buy in the TikTok app or on tiktok.com/coin, or a promotion TikTok shows you inside the app itself.
