The median beats the average

The average was 832,776 views, 51% above the median. One post with 4.0 million views on 25 September pulled it up. Plan around 550,100: that is what a typical Duolingo post earned.

Engagement ranged eightfold

Per-post engagement ran from 3.2% to 26.4%. The three lowest, 3.2% to 4.0%, were the fashion-collection posts of 9 and 10 September. Sort by engagement rate and patterns like this show up fast.

Reach versus audience size

The median post reached views equal to 3.0% of the follower count. Use that ratio to compare accounts of different sizes, alongside followers and likes.

Reading the numbers

How to read a TikTok account’s stats

  1. Followers, likes and videos are lifetime totals from the profile. They tell you size, not how the account is doing now.
  2. Median views is the middle post of the last 30. It is the fairest single number for current reach.
  3. Engagement rate here is (likes + comments + shares) ÷ views for each post, so a small account and a big one compare fairly. Some tools divide by followers instead; the engagement rate calculator shows both.
  4. Posts per week comes from the dates of the posts read. A steady pace with a steady median is a healthy account.

TikTok rounds post counts above about 100,000 in what it shows the public, so a video can read 1,100,000 instead of its exact count.

When 30 posts isn’t enough

Ask about the account in chat

In chat, TokConnect reads further back, opens the comments and transcripts behind the top posts, and compares accounts side by side.

Questions about TikTok account stats

How is the engagement rate calculated?

For each post: likes plus comments plus shares, divided by views. The headline figure is the median across the posts checked, so one viral video doesn’t skew it. Saves are shown but left out of the rate. Some calculators divide by followers instead; the engagement rate calculator guide shows both.

Can I check a private account?

You see the public counts: followers, following, total likes and number of videos. A private account’s posts aren’t visible to outside viewers, so there is no per-post view.

Why do some numbers look rounded?

TikTok rounds post counts above about 100,000 in what it shows the public, so a video with 1,103,422 views can appear as 1,100,000. The checker shows the figure TikTok gives.

Does it show follower growth or audience demographics?

No. TikTok shows outside viewers the current follower count only, with no history and no audience breakdown. The account owner sees those in TikTok Studio. Check the same account again later to compare.
