Pick a sound that is moving
A sound with several recent videos from different accounts is a safer pick than one with a huge old count. Check two or three before you film.

Paste a TikTok video link, a sound link or a song name. You get the title and artist, how many videos use the sound, how recent its best videos are, and a plain answer on whether to use it now.
We pasted the sound’s link into the free checker. TikTok counts 62,700 posts that use it. The checker read the 26 most-liked videos using it, posted between 30 December 2025 and 12 October 2026.

21 of the 26 videos went up in the last 30 days, from 21 different accounts. The busiest account made 3. That reads as a sound people are using now, not one creator’s series.
TikTok lists a sound’s videos most liked first, so the 26 are its best, not all 62,700. That can show a sound is active. A quiet sample would not prove a sound is dead, and the checker says so instead of guessing.
TikTok’s hot-sounds list held 26 sounds that day, mostly brand-new ones. This sound was not on it, which is normal. Being listed is a bonus signal, not a requirement.

TikTok rounds counts above about 100,000, so a video can read 7,100,000 instead of its exact count.
The checker reads public sound data. It does not listen to audio, so it can’t name a song hidden inside an original sound.

A sound marked not cleared is for personal accounts. Look for one that is cleared, or pick from the Commercial Music Library. More for brands

In chat, TokConnect finds which niches and creators use a sound, compares it with similar sounds and opens the videos behind the numbers.

Copy the video's link (in the app: Share, then Copy link), paste it into the sound checker and press the button. It reads the sound TikTok attached to that video and shows its title, artist and a link to TikTok's sound page. In the app you can also tap the spinning record at the bottom right of the video.
No. An original sound is audio a creator uploaded, and TikTok's data does not say what music plays inside it. The checker shows the creator, how many videos use the sound and its top videos. It does not listen to the audio, and it will not guess a song from it.
It counts how many of the sound's most-liked videos were posted in the last 7, 30 and 90 days, how many different accounts made them, and how large the videos are. A sound with several recent videos from many accounts reads as worth using. If TikTok lists too few videos, the answer is that it can't tell.
The checker shows TikTok's own commercial-use flag when TikTok returns one. TikTok says business accounts can pick only from its Commercial Music Library, which leaves out most chart hits. A sound marked as not cleared is fine for a personal account. Brands should choose from the library or check the licence.
It is a short list TikTok recommends, made mostly of brand-new original sounds with few videos. The checker looks for your sound on it and says so when it is there. Most sounds, including famous songs, are not on it, so being absent says little about whether a sound is worth using.
No. It reads public sound data only: title, artist, counts, dates and links to videos. It returns no audio file and no download link. To use a sound, open TikTok's own sound page from the link in the result and tap Use this sound in the app.
