CleanTok: what TikTok's cleaning fans search this week

CleanTok is TikTok's cleaning community, and it is bigger than ever: the #CleanTok hashtag had about 258 billion lifetime views across 8.3 million videos on 30 September 2026. This week the most typed cleaning search on TikTok was "cleaning house deep clean", with 740,625 searches in 7 days, followed by "Cleantok asmr" (288,155) and "speed cleaning hacks" (286,856).

This page shows what cleaning fans search for right now, which searches have almost no videos, and what the top videos do. It is for home creators, cleaning brands and TikTok Shop or Amazon sellers who want the exact words people use. We ran 14 cleaning searches through TikTok's own search data on 30 September 2026 and kept only the phrases people actually typed.

What is CleanTok?

CleanTok is the name for cleaning videos on TikTok and the people who watch them. The formats repeat: clean-with-me videos, deep-clean transformations, speed hacks, ASMR scrubbing, product tests, organizing and "motivation" videos for people who can't face the mess. The typed searches below split along exactly those lines.

TikTok treats it as a named community. In June 2023 it launched an in-app #CleanTok hub with Unilever and said the community had generated over 78 billion views (ChannelX report of the TikTok Newsroom announcement). The #CleanTok tag alone now shows about 258 billion, more than three times that figure.

Those totals show the audience is huge, not what to film: one more #CleanTok video joins 8.3 million others. The search data does that job.

What CleanTok is searching this week

These are the typed cleaning searches in our pulls, ranked by searches in the last 7 days. "Change" compares the last day of the week with the first. "Videos" is how many videos TikTok matches to the search, so a low number means little competition.

Daily figures for typed searches jump around a lot, so read a single week's change as rough. The steadiest riser is "how to motivate you to clean": it never fell below its first-day 56,405 and ended the week about four times higher, at 222,122. The cleaning problems people bring to TikTok

Grouped by the problem behind them, the typed searches fall into six jobs. Each is a series you can film.

• Carpet and rug stains: "paint out of carpet" (226,122), "turmeric carpet stain" (210,563), "How to clean rug" (142,342), "how to clean carpet stains" (124,712), "stained carpet cleaning" (94,171) and "Carpet Stain Removal" (93,890).
• Grout and showers: "grout cleaner for showers" (250,274), "best grout cleaner" (210,878) and "Zep Grout Tiles Cleaner" (71,592). People want a product name, not a method.
• Hard water: "What Is Hard Water" (218,421), "hard water stains" (149,855), "hard water stains on glass" (61,969) and "how to clean hard water stains" (35,682).
• Bathrooms and kitchens: "Clean Bathroom" (265,279), "cleaning the kitchen" (232,430), "clean bathroom with me" (175,552) and "How To Clean Bathroom" (78,223).
• Motivation: "deep cleaning motivation" (270,627) and "how to motivate you to clean" (222,122). These want a person to clean alongside, not a tip.
• Products: "clean cleaning products" (114,065), "cleantok ajax comet" (76,622), "cleantok cleaning products" (51,005) and "cleantok sponges" (38,711).

One warning for anyone targeting "how to clean". TikTok's autocomplete for that phrase is mostly devices, shoes and body care: phone speakers, phone and TikTok storage, keyboards, teeth, Air Force 1s and Sambas. Only "how to clean your room" is about a home. Name the room or the stain in your wording, or you'll be competing with phone tutorials.

Cleaning searches with almost no videos

A search with real demand and few matched videos is where a new video has the best chance of being found. TikTok flags searches with no matched videos as content gaps, and our content gap guide explains how to read them.

TikTok's topic labels for cleaning

Most of what TikTok returned were not typed searches. Of 274 distinct topics, 217 were topic labels TikTok writes itself to group many searches, like "stain removal cleaning hacks" or "viral kitchen cleaning hacks". Every one sat between 1.9 million and 4.8 million, and all climbed from 10,002 or less on the first day to millions by the last, on the same curve. Read them as the size of a theme, not as keywords to copy.

What the top videos for "grout cleaner for showers" do

TikTok returned nine videos for "grout cleaner for showers" on 30 September. The first result, a 72-second video captioned "The best way to clean tile and grout in your shower", has 1,329,814 plays. It ranks above a video with 23,998,188 plays, so relevance beats raw views in search.

Saves tell the same story. The top how-to earned 27,130 saves, about 2% of its plays. The 24-million-play video earned 37,231, about 0.16%. People save a method they plan to use, so a clear, specific how-to is worth more than a viral clip.

The pattern across all nine: six name grout in the caption or hashtags, two are only hashtags, and two use steam instead of chemicals. Lengths run from 17.5 to 72.5 seconds, with a middle value of 28 seconds. Two date from 2023 and still rank, so a good grout video keeps working for years. One carries TikTok Shop deal hashtags, which is how sellers show up here.

CleanTok creators to know

A TikTok user search for "cleantok" on 30 September returned these cleaning accounts, among others. The biggest run to millions of followers, and at least one smaller account says in its bio that it takes paid brand work.

How to use these searches in a cleaning video

1. Say the search in the first seconds. "This is the best grout cleaner for showers I've tried."
2. Put the exact words on screen. "Turmeric carpet stain: what worked" beats "satisfying clean".
3. Write it in the caption. One plain sentence with the search, then two or three tags. #CleanTok alone sits on 8.3 million videos.
4. Show before and after on one surface. The same grout line or carpet patch, start to finish.

How we got these numbers

On 30 September 2026 we ran 14 cleaning searches through TikTok's Creator Search Insights data, 20 topics each (280 topics, 274 distinct), plus two hashtag searches, one autocomplete pull, two video searches and one user search: 20 calls in all. We dropped 217 TikTok-generated topic labels, kept the 57 phrases that read like typed searches, and of those used the 39 about cleaning a home. The main table shows the top 24.

"Searches" is TikTok's 7-day search popularity, global, the same number Creator Search Insights shows in the TikTok app and at tiktok.com/csi. It is not monthly and not US-only; our search volume guide explains it. Hashtag views and videos are lifetime totals. We couldn't watch every video, so we embedded only ones whose captions describe a safe method.
