Most lists of TikTok analytics tools rank fifteen products against each other as if they did the same thing. They don't. "TikTok analytics" means three separate jobs, and almost no tool is good at more than one of them.

The three jobs are: reporting on your own account, tracking other people's accounts, and measuring search and trend demand before you make anything. Work out which one you are trying to do and the shortlist drops from fifteen to two. This guide sorts every serious TikTok analytics tool by job, with what each one costs.

The three jobs hiding behind one phrase

Job one: your own account. Views, watch time, retention, follower demographics, traffic sources, best time to post. This data only exists because you own the account, and TikTok gives you all of it free.

Job two: other accounts. Competitors, influencers you are about to pay, brands in your category. Here you get public numbers only: follower counts, views, likes, comments, captions, hashtags. Nobody can see a stranger's watch time. A tool that offers "competitor analytics" is reading the same public figures you can and doing the arithmetic.

Job three: demand. What people are searching for and what is rising, before a video exists. This is the one the listicles skip, and it is the only one that tells you what to make.

The demand for this is real, and TikTok's own search data shows it. On 19 September 2026 the topic reading tiktok analytics had 285,257 searches in seven days and zero videos matched to it. People are looking for help reading these numbers and not finding it.

Job one: your own account

Start with the free tools, because for this job they are the most accurate ones that exist.

TikTok's native analytics is built into the app under Profile → Menu → TikTok Studio → Analytics, and on a computer at tiktok.com/tiktokstudio when you are logged in. You get overview, content, viewers and follower tabs, per-video breakdowns including traffic sources, and date ranges of 7, 28 or 60 days plus a custom range, with longer history on the content tab (Sprout's walkthrough has the current layout). It costs nothing and no third party matches its accuracy, because everyone else is working from what TikTok chooses to publish.

You buy a third-party tool when you need scheduling, several accounts, several networks, or a report a client will read. On that basis:

  • Metricool has a permanent free plan for one brand and paid plans from €16 a month, which makes it the cheapest honest way to get TikTok reporting alongside Instagram and the rest.
  • Later starts at $18.75 a month billed yearly, with a 14-day trial. Worth knowing: the entry plan keeps only three months of TikTok history.
  • Socialinsider starts at $82 a month and is built around benchmarking and exportable reports, with a 14-day trial and no free plan.
  • Hootsuite lists Standard from $99 per user per month, up to $399 for Advanced, with a 14-day trial.
  • Sprout Social is $99 per seat per month for Essentials billed monthly, $199 for Standard, rising to $399, with a 30-day trial. It is an enterprise suite, priced like one, and the TikTok part is a tab in a bigger dashboard.

Prices are September 2026 list prices and several of these vendors serve local currency and promotional rates, so check the number you will actually be charged before you commit.

Job two: other people's accounts

Exolyt is the one specialist here. It is TikTok-only, covers account analytics, competitor and influencer tracking, hashtag and sound analysis, and has a free Basic tier with Essentials at €250 a month (€210 billed annually). If your whole job is watching TikTok, it is the tool built for you.

Socialinsider does the same work across networks rather than in depth on one. Analisa.io is still listed everywhere for TikTok profile and hashtag reports; its site would not load for us at all, so check pricing directly before relying on it.

Two notes worth more than another product name. Pentos appears in almost every "best TikTok analytics tools" list published this year, and its domain no longer resolves. The directories have not noticed. And for TikTok Shop, Kalodata and FastMoss are the real options: FastMoss publishes prices, from $49 a month for Basic after a discounted first month, with a 7-day trial; Kalodata hides its pricing behind a signup wall, so check pricing there too.

For raw public data at scale, Apify (free tier with $5 of monthly credits, paid from $19 a month, plus per-actor charges) and Bright Data (Web Scraper API at $1.50 per 1,000 records pay-as-you-go, datasets from $2.50 per 1,000) sell you profiles, posts and comments as files. No dashboard, no interpretation, and you write the code.

Job three: search and trend demand

Creator Search Insights is TikTok's own keyword tool and the only place TikTok publishes search volumes: 7-day search counts per topic, a trend chart, a popularity score, and a content-gap flag for topics people search that nobody has filmed. It is free, it lives in the TikTok app and at tiktok.com/csi, and it has no export. Our full guide covers every tab.

TikTok Creative Center is free and needs no login to browse trending hashtags, videos and songs by country, though the full lists are gated behind an account. It is made for advertisers, so it answers "what is popular" rather than "what is searched".

TrendTok is an iPhone app that predicts rising sounds and trends by niche. It is free to download with in-app purchases whose prices Apple does not publish, so treat the subscription cost as unknown until you see it.

TokConnect covers this job by putting Creator Search Insights and TikTok's public search into an AI agent: search volumes, 7-day charts, content gaps, audience splits, plus profiles, videos and comments. You ask a question in Claude or ChatGPT and get a table back, which is the part the app cannot do.

For the [your niche] niche on TikTok: list the top 20 search topics with their 7-day search volume, popularity score and video count. Flag every topic with fewer than 100 matched videos as a content gap. Then pull the two biggest accounts in the niche and tell me which of those topics they already cover.

What to actually use

Solo creator. TikTok's native analytics and Creator Search Insights, both free, and nothing else until you are posting for someone other than yourself. If you want the search data in a spreadsheet instead of screenshots, that is the one gap worth paying to close.

Agency or social media manager. One scheduler with reporting (Metricool at the low end, Sprout or Hootsuite when the client demands their format), plus a demand tool, because "here is what your category searches for" is the slide that wins the pitch. Exolyt if TikTok is most of your book.

Ecommerce and TikTok Shop. FastMoss or Kalodata for sales data, since no general social tool has product-level GMV. Pair it with search demand so you are researching products people look for rather than products that already sell.

Developer. Apify or Bright Data if you want files and will write the parsing. An MCP server if you want the data inside an agent without building a pipeline. The TikTok API guide maps every official route first, because some of what people scrape is available legitimately.

Whichever you pick, the order matters more than the brand: measure demand before you film, your own account after, and other people's accounts only when you have a decision riding on it. The competitor analysis guide shows what job two looks like done properly, and the content strategy guide shows what to do with job three.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best analytics tool for TikTok?

For your own account it is TikTok's own analytics in TikTok Studio, which is free and sees data nobody else can. For tracking other TikTok accounts, Exolyt is the specialist. For TikTok Shop sales, FastMoss or Kalodata. For search demand, Creator Search Insights inside the app, or an MCP server if you want the same data on a desktop. There is no single best tool because there is no single job.

Is there a way to see TikTok analytics for other users?

You can see their public numbers: followers, total likes, video count, and the views, likes, comments and shares on each video, plus captions and hashtags. You cannot see watch time, retention, traffic sources or audience demographics for an account you do not own. Tools that sell "competitor analytics" collect those public figures and calculate averages from them. Our competitor analysis guide runs the whole method on two real accounts.

How does TikTok Analytics work?

TikTok records views, engagement and traffic sources on every video you post and aggregates them under Profile → TikTok Studio → Analytics, with overview, content, viewers and follower tabs. You choose a window of 7, 28 or 60 days or a custom range, and per-video reports show where the views came from, including search. It is available in the app and on a computer at tiktok.com/tiktokstudio.
