Creator Search Insights not showing usually comes down to one of seven things, and the first two are fixed in under a minute. In rough order of how often each one turns out to be the real cause: you searched the wrong phrase, your app is out of date, TikTok has not rolled the tool out in your market, your account is not an adult account, your session is stale after an account-type switch, the tool is there and only the Searches by followers tab is empty, or you are looking on desktop while signed out.
Work down the list in that order. There is no form to fill in and no waitlist to join, so anything that promises to get you access is selling you something.
1. You searched the wrong phrase
This is the most common one by a distance. Creator Search Insights has no icon and no menu entry on most accounts. You reach it by searching for it inside the app, and the search has to match.
Type creator search insights into the TikTok search bar. Not "search insights", not "creator insights", not "creator search insight". Then look at the very top of the results page for a card with a View button. It sits above the videos, and on a small screen it is easy to scroll straight past it into the video feed.
The other door is Profile → TikTok Studio → Creator tools, in the app. Not every account has the entry there, so the search route is the reliable one.
2. Your app is out of date
The tool ships with app builds. An account can be fully eligible and still see nothing because the phone is running a version from before the feature reached that market.
Update TikTok from the App Store or Play Store, force-quit it, and reopen. On Android, if you sideloaded an APK at some point you may be on a build that never updates from the Play Store at all; reinstall from the store. Then search the phrase again.
3. TikTok has not rolled it out where you are
TikTok announced Creator Search Insights in March 2024 and has expanded it market by market since, without publishing a country list. Creators in the US, UK, Canada and Australia generally have it. Plenty of other markets still do not, and some accounts in markets that do have it are still waiting.
There is no way to ask for it. A VPN will not help either: TikTok reads the region on your account, which is set from the SIM and account history, not from the IP address you happen to be on today. Changing your account region is a support request that affects your whole account, and we would not do it for one tool.
If this is your situation, skip to what to do if it never appears.
4. Your account is not an adult account
Creator Search Insights is an adult-account feature. If the birth date on your account puts you under 18, the card will not appear, and no amount of updating will change it.
This also catches people who mistyped their birth year years ago. Check it under Settings and privacy → Account → Account information. Correcting it is a support request with ID verification.
5. You switched account type and your session is stale
Business, creator and personal accounts all show the tool, and TikTok has not published an account-type requirement for it. What does break things is switching between them: the creator tools list is fetched with your session, so an account that flipped from business to personal an hour ago can keep showing the old list until it refreshes.
Sign out, sign back in, and search the phrase again. If you are on a business account and you also cannot see the Creator tools section at all, that is the same stale session, not a restriction.
TikTok has never published a complete eligibility list for this tool, only the how-to-use page. The requirements above are what holds up consistently across accounts we have checked and what other creators report. Treat them as reliable, not as a specification.
6. The tool works, but Searches by followers is empty
This one looks like a fault and is not. Inside the Suggested channel there are two sub-tabs: Content gap and Searches by followers. The second needs more than 1,000 followers before TikTok will build a follower-search profile for your account. Below that it stays blank.
Everything else keeps working under 1,000 followers: the search bar, Trending, Featured, the category chips and every topic page with its numbers. The Content gap tab is the one that matters most for a small account anyway, because it points at topics nobody has covered.
7. You are looking on desktop without being logged in
On a computer the tool sits at tiktok.com/csi, and it needs a TikTok login. Signed out, that address sends you to the login page instead of the tool. Log in, open it again, and you get the same topics, search popularity figure and charts as the app.
Creator Search Insights not showing anywhere? Use the data another way
If you are outside the rollout, waiting is the only in-app option, and it can be a long wait. The data itself is not locked to your app, though. The same topic records that feed those screens are readable from a laptop through an AI agent, which means an account that cannot open the tool can still do the research.
The setup is one endpoint and one key in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Gemini CLI. The connect pages have the exact lines per client.
Search TikTok Creator Search Insights topics for my niche, 15 results. Table of topic, 7-day searches, video count and category, sorted by searches. Then list the ones with fewer than 100 videos, those are my content gaps, and suggest a caption for the top three using each topic's exact wording.
You can also skip the setup entirely. This week's content-gap topics, refreshed from the same source, sit on the content gaps page, and the biggest movers by category are on trends. Neither needs an account.
Two things worth knowing while you wait. The desktop guide covers using the web version at tiktok.com/csi and why the download pages offering a "Creator Search Insights app" are not TikTok's. And whatever route you use to find a topic, what earns search views is putting the topic's wording into your caption and on-screen text, which the TikTok SEO guide covers in full.
One last check before you give up on the app: look at a friend's phone in the same country on the same app version. If the card appears for them and not for you, it is your account. If it appears for neither of you, it is the market.
Frequently asked questions
Why can't I see insights on TikTok?
Check which insights you mean. Creator Search Insights, the search-topic tool, needs a current app version, an adult account and a market where TikTok has rolled it out. Your own post analytics are separate and live under Profile → TikTok Studio, or at studio.tiktok.com in a browser.
How do I get Creator Search Insights on TikTok?
There is no application form and no waitlist. Update the TikTok app, then search the exact phrase creator search insights and tap View on the card at the top of the results. If no card appears, your account is not in the rollout yet and there is nothing to request.
Does Creator Search Insights work on a business account?
Creators report seeing it on personal, creator and business accounts, and TikTok has not published an account-type requirement. If you switched account types recently, sign out and back in, because the tools list is fetched with your session.
Why is my Searches by followers tab empty?
That tab needs more than 1,000 followers. Under that threshold TikTok will not build a follower-search profile for your account, so the tab shows nothing even though the rest of the tool works normally.
