- TokConnect finds the TikTok comments asking where to buy: it pulls the top comments from the top videos for any product and counts and quotes every "where to buy", "link?" and "where did you get" comment inside ChatGPT, Claude or Cursor.
- In a real run on 18 top lip oil and portable blender videos, 73 of 854 comments (8.5%) were buying questions: 6.4% for lip oil and 10.5% for portable blender.
- 38 of those 73 buying comments were not written in English, so an English-only phrase list misses half the buyers.
- The three most-liked lip oil videos drew 0 buying questions, while one essence video with 494,190 likes drew 14 in 46 comments read.
- Export tools such as Apify and Bright Data return raw comments; TokConnect also classifies them and gives you the count.
We ran it on two products. Across 18 top videos and 854 comments, 73 comments (8.5%) asked where to buy, asked for the link, asked what the product was or said they could not find it where they live. More than half of those 73 were not written in English. Below you get the phrases buyers really use, the keyword rules that found them, the video-by-video counts, and prompts you can paste for your own product.
How do you find comments that ask where to buy?
You go from the product to its top videos, from the videos to their comments, and from the comments to the ones that sound like a buyer. TokConnect does all four steps in one answer:
- Find the top videos. TokConnect searches TikTok for your product and ranks the videos by likes.
- Read their comments. It pulls up to 50 top comments from each of the top 10 videos, in any language.
- Match the buyer questions. Plain keyword rules flag every comment that asks where to buy, asks for a link, asks what the product is or says it can't be found.
- Count and quote. You get the total, the share, the quotes word for word with no usernames, and the videos that drew the most.
TikTok shows one video's comments at a time. Reading 500 of them by hand is slow, and you still have to count. With TokConnect you type one question.
What do buyers actually write in TikTok comments?
They write short, messy and multilingual questions. These are the phrases we found in the 854 comments, grouped by what the commenter wanted.
| What they want | How they write it | Comments | Word for word |
|---|---|---|---|
| Where to buy it (English) | where can I buy, how can I get it, where do you get it, where is it from | 26 | "Where can I buy it", "how can i find it ?", "Where do u get them", "WHERE ARE THEY AVAILABLE IN UK??" |
| Where to buy it (Spanish) | dónde lo compro, dónde lo consigo | 13 | "donde lo puedo comprar", "dónde lo consigo" |
| Where to buy it (German, Russian, Indonesian, Polish, French) | wo kann man, где купить, beli dmn, gdzie kupić, comment acheter | 10 | "Wo kann man die kaufen", "где их купить" (where to buy them), "mau beli dmn mana ga ada" (want to buy, where?), "Gdzie można kupić?" |
| The link | link, link pls | 4 | "Link plss", "Where the link", "sned link" |
| What is it called | what shade, what brand, как называется | 6 | "Qué tono es?" (what shade is it), "Что за блеск?" (what gloss is this), "guys kalo diindo brand apa" (what brand is it) |
| Can't get it where I live | in [country]?, bring it to [country], we want your product in [country], sold out, nothing in France | 15 | "IN DEUTSCHLAND?" (in Germany?), "Türkiyeye getirin" (bring it to Turkey), "Huda we want your product in Tunisia", "available in Pakistan?" |
Data: comments on the top lip oil and portable blender videos via TokConnect, 28 October 2026. A comment can fit more than one row. Open the data.
Language is the finding most teams miss. 38 of the 73 buying comments were not in English, and Spanish was the biggest group after English with 14. An English-only phrase list misses half of the buyers. TokConnect pulls comments in every language and your AI reads them in one pass, so one request catches "donde lo compro", "wo gibt es die" and "где купить" together.
People also ask for the price. Another 36 comments said "how much", "price", "prix" or "precio", 34 of them on the blender videos. They are counted separately from the 73.
A real run: lip oil and portable blender
The request is simple: take the top videos for a product, read their comments, list everyone asking where to buy. We ran it for two products, one beauty product and one gadget.
Use TokConnect. Find the 10 most-liked TikTok videos for "lip oil". Pull the top 50 comments from each video. List every comment that asks where to buy, asks for the link, asks what brand or shade it is, or says it can't find it. Give me the total comments read, how many asked, the share, 10 quotes word for word with no usernames, and which videos drew the most.
Here is what the same request returned for both products.
| Product | Videos | Comments read | Buying comments | Share | Where to buy | Link | What is it | Can't find it | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lip oil | 9 | 408 | 26 | 6.4% | 8 | 0 | 5 | 14 | 2 |
| Portable blender | 9 | 446 | 47 | 10.5% | 41 | 4 | 1 | 1 | 34 |
| Both | 18 | 854 | 73 | 8.5% | 49 | 4 | 6 | 15 | 36 |
Data: top comments on the most-liked TikTok videos for each keyword, pulled through TokConnect on 28 October 2026. Reason columns can overlap, and price comments are not part of the buying total. Open the data.
The two products ask in different ways. Blender shoppers ask where to buy: 41 of the 47 buying comments are "where can I buy it" in some language. Lip oil shoppers ask where they can find it near them: 14 of the 26 are people in Germany, Turkey, France and other markets saying the product isn't sold there.
Which videos drew the most buying questions?
The videos with the most likes are not the ones with buyers in the comments. The three most-liked lip oil videos had 0 buying questions in 141 comments read. The ones that drew buyers are product demos: a named lip oil range, a Clarins shade, a blender making a milkshake.
| Video | Likes | Comments on video | Read | Buying questions | Share |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| essence juicy bomb lip oils | 494,190 | 5,640 | 46 | 14 | 30.4% |
| Blender: strawberry milkshake | 260,640 | 559 | 50 | 11 | 22.0% |

The top questions, word for word
These are real comments from the run, with usernames removed.
- "Where can I buy it"

- "Where do u get them"
- "Link plss"
- "How can I get it , am in Zimbabwe"
- "WHERE ARE THEY AVAILABLE IN UK??"
- "Huda we want your product in Tunisia"
- "IN DEUTSCHLAND?"
- "donde lo puedo comprar" (Spanish, where can I buy it)
- "есть на вб?" (Russian, is it on Wildberries)
The keyword rules we used
The rules are plain and anyone can read them. A comment counts as a buying comment when its text matches at least one of these, in any language:
- Where to buy: "where" near buy, get, find, order or sold; "how can I get it"; "dónde" near comprar or conseguir; "wo gibt es"; "где купить"; "beli dmn"; "gdzie kupić"; "comment acheter".
- The link: the word "link" (and its Russian, French and Spanish forms).
- What is it: "what brand", "what shade", "what is it called", "qué tono", "какой бренд", "brand apa".
- Can't find it: "available in", "ships to", "sold out", "in Deutschland", "bring it to", "we want your product in", "nirgendwo".
Price words ("how much", "price", "prix", "precio") and "I need this" are counted on their own and left out of the 73. The exact patterns are in the data file. Paste them into your prompt if you want the same rules on your own product.
Which method is best for finding buying comments?

Export tools and scrapers deliver the comments; you write the filter and do the counting. TokConnect returns the count. There's more on pulling comments as data in the comments API guide, and on finding one comment in the app in the comment finder guide.
How do you turn buying comments into sales?
A buying comment is a customer asking to pay you. If you sell the product, answer it. If you don't, it shows you where the demand is.
Reply with the product link
Most "link?" and "where can I buy it" comments never get an answer. Reply to each one with where to buy. Links in TikTok comments show as plain text, so give a short address people can copy or point them to your profile link. The link in bio guide shows how.
Pin a comment with the answer
One buyer question usually stands for many. The blender videos repeat "where can I buy it" in English, Spanish, Russian and Indonesian. Pin one comment that says where to get it, so the next shopper sees the answer before they ask.
Make a reply video
A reply video answers a comment on camera. TikTok's newsroom describes it as a reply that appears in the comment thread and also posts as a new video on your page. When the same question shows up 8 or 11 times on one video, as it did under the Clarins and the strawberry milkshake videos, it is a ready-made topic for a short answer video.
Spot demand no shop is serving
The "can't find it" comments are your market list. Under one essence video, 10 of the 14 buying comments were people saying they couldn't find the product where they live: Germany, Turkey and France. Under the Huda Beauty video, commenters asked for the products in Tunisia. For a seller, that is a country to ship to. For a brand, it is a country to list in. Ask TokConnect whether the product is listed on TikTok Shop in that market and who is promoting it.

How we got these numbers
On 28 October 2026 we searched TikTok for "lip oil" and "portable blender", sorted by most liked, and kept the videos TikTok returned: 9 for each keyword. For each video we pulled the top-level comments in TikTok's own relevance order, up to 50 per video, 854 comments in all. TikTok returned fewer than 50 for some videos. Replies were not read.
The comments were matched against the keyword rules above, and we read every match to remove false hits. A comment counts once however many rules it matches. Usernames are removed from the published data. The shares come from the top comments on the most-liked videos, so yours will differ by product.
For developers: the calls behind the example
The videos came from video_search with sort: most_liked and limit: 10. The comments came from video with method: comments and limit: 50, once per video. Total: 2 searches and 18 comment pulls, saved in the evidence file with the rules and results.
