Three things stand out. Gear beats supplements: weighted vests (11 searches, 2,273,305 in total), lifting straps (8 searches, 1,708,434) and ankle weights (10 searches, 1,186,056) together outweigh every supplement search we found. Shoppers name brands, mostly for protein bars. And many searches are about using a product, not buying one: how to wrap a strap, what a vest did after a month of walks.
What's behind the top fitness searches
Micro gym shorts: big, but fading
"micro short gym" leads the week with 431,983 searches and 229 videos, so each video shares about 1,886 searches. Three of the five videos TikTok ranks for it tag the activewear brand Oner Active, and those three have only 674 to 3,809 plays each. The demand is far ahead of the videos.
The month tells a different story. The average daily reading in the last week of our 30 days was 97% below the first week. TikTok's early-September readings for it ran into the millions, a size we usually see only on TikTok's pooled topic groups, so we don't quote them as searches. "shorts to buy" (289,213) shows the same cooling, down 37% across the month. Our read: gym shorts are a strong search but a late one to stock for.
Lifting straps: the how-to gap
Eight lifting strap searches came back, and six have no videos. The biggest is "how to wrap lifting straps" (349,395), followed by "d ring lifting straps" (261,069), "how to put on lifting strap" (191,057) and "how to wash lifting straps" (187,343), which barely existed at the start of the week. Tutorials do exist: the top one in TikTok search has 3,701,661 plays. It just doesn't use the words people type. A strap seller who films a setup video and says "how to wrap lifting straps" out loud has a search to answer.
Weighted vests: brands, anime and results
Weighted vests are the biggest product group on the page. "punisher weighted vest" (298,910) points to a Marvel collaboration: SuperX Apparel's Punisher Training Vest, in 12 lb and 25 lb versions according to the brand's own caption. The three videos TikTok ranks for it have under 3,000 plays each, and none matches the exact search. "vegeta weighted vest" (250,074) is the anime version of the same idea, named after the Dragon Ball character.
Four searches ask for results: "before and after weighted vest walks", "weighted vest results before and after", "weighted vest before and after women" and "weighted vest result". They hold 1,003,962 searches between them and TikTok matches no video to any of them. Be careful here: a before-and-after video is a claim about what the product does, so only post results you can stand behind.
Ankle weights: the steadiest search
"ankles weights", with the stray s, got 329,432 searches and has no videos. It never read zero in 30 days and stayed between 118,110 and 407,890, which makes it the most dependable search here. Put both spellings in your caption. The anime angle shows up again with "rock lees ankle weights" (163,316), after the Naruto character.
Protein bars and supplements: brand names
Protein bar searches are brand searches: "david bars protein bar" (278,427, no videos), "more protein bar" (259,822), "mush protein bar" (251,474), "morgan protein bar" (248,074), "promix protein bar" (226,522, no videos) and "3fs protein bar" (219,365, up 667% in a week, no videos). If you sell one of these, a taste test that says the full name has little to compete with.
Supplement searches are smaller and more question-shaped: "no creatine vs creatine" (228,331) and "what does creatine do to you" (158,184, new this week, no videos). "kaged pre workout" (237,876) is the only pre-workout brand that came back. Our "protein powder" seed returned only TikTok's topic groups, no typed searches at all. We make no claims about what any supplement does, and neither should a product video without evidence: the FTC's Health Products Compliance Guidance says health claims for supplements need competent and reliable scientific evidence.
How the top searches moved over 30 days
We pulled TikTok's daily readings from 5 September to 5 October 2026 for the top six product searches. Each point is the 7-day search figure on that day. The chart leaves out "micro short gym", whose early readings would flatten every other line.

Only the lifting strap search grew across the month. "kettlebell benefits" shows why a single week can mislead: it read 98, 298 and 0 on three days of the last week, then 298,449 on 5 October, so its 2,289% weekly rise says more about a jumpy series than a lasting trend. "punisher weighted vest" had a launch-style spike on 12 September and has settled at a lower level since.

The pattern for sellers: the strap tutorials that rank are old and huge, while the shorts and vest videos are new and tiny. A 30-second video that names the exact search is still worth making in both cases. For the strap search, it competes on wording; for the vest and the shorts, it competes with clips of a few thousand plays.

What search data can and cannot tell a fitness seller
Search counts show demand before anyone buys: what people want to see, in their own words, and where no video answers them. That is what you need to pick a product angle, write a caption and decide which item to film first.
They do not show sales. Nothing on this page is units sold, revenue or GMV, and a big search like "how to wrap lifting straps" can come from people who already own the product. For the sales side, sellers use TikTok Shop's own analytics, TikTok's Creative Center Top Products for products in ads, or third-party sales estimates. Search data also can't tell you whether a product is safe, works or is allowed in your market; supplements in particular carry their own rules.
Several top videos here tag a brand. If you earn from a link or got the product free, the FTC says to disclose it in the video itself, not only in the caption (Disclosures 101).
How we got these numbers
On 5 October 2026 we ran 16 fitness searches through TikTok's Creator Search Insights data with TokConnect's search_topics tool and took the top 20 topics for each: 320 topics, 318 unique. TikTok returns two kinds. Typed searches are phrases people actually enter (104 of them here). Topic labels are names TikTok generates to group many searches, like "creatine mixing and water intake"; the 214 we got read between 1,825,782 and 28,779,175 and tell you a theme's size, not a phrase to copy, so we left them out of the ranking. From the 104 typed searches we removed exercise moves that happen to name a tool (such as "dumbbell curls" and "kettlebell halo") and a few vague phrases, leaving 73. We also removed "slin pre workout" (299,670 searches): the videos TikTok ranks for it are about insulin use in bodybuilding, not a product anyone should sell. The excluded list is in the snapshot.
We then pulled 30 days of daily search popularity for the top six product searches plus the excluded one (search_popularity) and ran five video searches (search_videos). "Searches" is TikTok's search popularity: searches in the last 7 days, worldwide. More on what it measures in TikTok search volume. Limits worth knowing: counts are global, so a search can be big in one country and unknown in yours; some daily series jump between zero and a high figure; and the seeds decide which products can appear.
