- Creative Center is free and still useful for top ads, but signed out on 30 September 2026 its US trends page showed only three hashtags and no search numbers.
- Creator Search Insights (free, no export) and TokConnect (free 50 credits, then $49 a month) are the two options here that show TikTok search volume.
- For daily trend tracking, Virlo starts at $49 a month; TickerTrends costs $998 a year and adds 3+ years of TikTok hashtag history for investors.
- For ad examples, TikTok's Commercial Content Library is free with no account; PiPiADS is the paid ad spy option.
- Trendpop and Pentos still appear in lists, but neither had a working product site when we checked.
The best TikTok Creative Center alternative depends on which half you're replacing. For trends with real search numbers, use TikTok's free Creator Search Insights or TokConnect (free to start, then $49 a month). For daily hashtag and creator trend tracking, look at Virlo ($49 a month) or TickerTrends ($998 a year, built for investors). For ad examples, use TikTok's free Commercial Content Library or PiPiADS. For tracking named accounts and hashtags, Exolyt.
Why people look: signed out on 30 September 2026, Creative Center's US trends page showed three hashtags, a Creator tab marked "Coming soon" and a Video tab that sends you to TikTok One. None of it shows how many people search for anything. This page is for marketers, creators and agencies who want more than that.
Checked 30 September 2026 on each vendor's own site. We make TokConnect, one of the tools on this page. Where another tool does a job better, we say so. Every fact with its link.

What is TikTok Creative Center for, and what does it lack?
Creative Center is built for advertisers. TikTok's help page calls it "a free, public home to an ever-growing suite of creative resources" for trends, ad examples and tools to make TikTok ads. It has three parts: Top Ads, Trends, and the Symphony creative tools for generating and resizing ads.
For ad research it's good. Top Ads shows real ads with likes, a CTR percentile and a budget level, and costs nothing. For trends, TikTok's own Trends help page now describes it narrowly: "Trends displays trending hashtags by industry." You filter by industry and time frame and open a hashtag's trendline, audience and regions.
Here is what the US trends page showed us when signed out on 30 September 2026:
| Rank | Hashtag | Posts | Views |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | #citytastetest | 663.8K | 516.1M |
| 2 | #authentik | 65.7K | 39.8M |
| 3 | #mylivejourney | 32.7K | 42M |
Creative Center trends, United States, last 7 days, signed out, 30 September 2026. The rest of the list sat behind "Log in or sign up". Snapshot.
What it lacks for organic research comes down to four things. It measures posts and views, not searches, so it can't tell you what people looked for and didn't find. Old links to the songs and keyword views redirected to other pages when we checked. There's no export on the public view. And the video rankings now send you to TikTok One, a separate TikTok product. For the full split between Creative Center and TikTok's search tool, see our Creative Center vs Creator Search Insights page.
The #1 hashtag shows the gap. That same week, the typed search "taste test" had 123,538 searches and 1,186 videos, while TikTok's own taste-test topic labels ran from 2.5 million to 4.7 million. Creative Center shows none of that.
Which alternatives are best for TikTok trends?
Creator Search Insights: free search demand
Creator Search Insights is TikTok's own search tool. It lives in the TikTok app and on desktop at tiktok.com/csi (you need a TikTok login). Each topic shows searches over the last 7 days, a trend chart and a content gap flag when few videos exist. It's the only free tool that shows creators organic TikTok search volume. It has no export, no history view and no API. Our guide covers every tab.
Where Creative Center wins: ad examples and hashtag audience data.
Virlo: viral formats, updated daily
Virlo calls itself a social listening and analytics platform for short video. Its FAQ says it focuses on TikTok, extends to YouTube Shorts and refreshes trend and niche data daily. Starter is $49 a month for 2,000 credits and Pro is $199 for 12,000, both after a free trial. Every plan includes account tracking and Excel, CSV or JSON exports, and there's an API and MCP server.
Its strength is finding what's working in video right now, with AI agents that break down hooks and formats. It doesn't claim TikTok search volume.
TickerTrends: long history, built for investors
TickerTrends tracks "20k+ TikTok topics and hashtags", with views, posts, creator counts and engagement, updated daily and with more than three years of history. It also tracks Reddit and ChatGPT trends. No other tool here advertises that much TikTok history.
It's aimed at investors and analysts, and its Core plan is $998 a year after a 7-day trial, with limited MCP access. Dashboards, CSV exports and the API sit in its custom-priced KPI Tracking Suite. A creator planning next week's videos will pay for a lot they won't use.
Exolyt: tracking named accounts and hashtags
Exolyt is a TikTok-only analytics and listening tool. Its free Basic plan tracks one account and one hashtag with 7 days of history; Essentials is €250 a month (€210 billed yearly) for 50 accounts, 50 hashtags and 3 listening projects. If you watch competitors and client hashtags every day, it's stronger than anything else here. Our Exolyt alternatives page compares it in depth.
TokConnect: ask the question, get the numbers
TokConnect is the TikTok research platform we make. You ask in plain words at chat.tokconnect.com, or inside ChatGPT, Claude or Cursor, and it answers with TikTok's 7-day search numbers, trend lines, content gaps and the matching videos, creators, hashtags and comments. Free covers 50 lookups; Starter is $49 a month for 500.
What it doesn't do: it has no ads data, no ad library, no follower history or saved account tracking, and no TikTok Shop sales. It reads what's on TikTok when you ask. If you need a year of hashtag history, TickerTrends or Exolyt are the better pick.
Which alternatives replace Top Ads?
TikTok's own Commercial Content Library is free and needs no account. Its FAQ describes an archive of ads that ran in the European Economic Area, the UK, Turkey and Switzerland, kept for a year after they last ran. You search by country, date and advertiser or keyword, and there's an official API. It shows the ad and who ran it, not how it performed.
PiPiADS is a paid ad spy tool for TikTok and Facebook. Basic lists at $69 a month for 30,000 credits and was $49 in a flash sale when we checked; a list result costs 1 credit and opening an ad's details costs 20. It also ranks products and TikTok Shop items. Pick it if Top Ads is the part of Creative Center you use most. For TikTok Shop sales estimates instead, see Kalodata vs FastMoss.
What does a trend question look like with search numbers?
We asked the question Creative Center can't answer: what are people searching for in fall decor this week? These are the typed searches TikTok returned on 30 September 2026.
| Typed search | Searches (7 days) | Videos |
|---|---|---|
| decorating my room for fall | 295,652 | 764 |
| FallDecorations | 295,129 | 1,062 |
| salon fall decor | 277,516 | 0 |
| fall decor on a budget | 254,872 | 812 |
| Fall Room Decor | 195,219 | 1,161 |
| fall decor diy | 180,545 | 735 |
| Fall Decor Ideas | 158,120 | 1,246 |
| simple fall decor | 146,185 | 703 |
Data: TikTok Creator Search Insights via TokConnect, search_topics for "fall decor", pulled 30 September 2026, global. Five larger results were TikTok's own topic labels, not typed searches, such as "fall home and room decor" at 4,545,262. Open the snapshot.
Three things a hashtag list wouldn't tell you. Salon fall decor had 277,516 searches and zero videos, and all of that demand came from the US. That's an open slot for any salon or beauty account. Two of the top five are about decorating a room, so film the bedroom first. And budget, simple and DIY show up in three of the top eight, so put the price or the effort level in the first line of the caption and on screen.
Timing matters too. The hashtag #falldecor has 5.9 billion lifetime views, which says nothing about this week. The daily search line does:
"Fall decor on a budget" peaked on 8 September and was well down by the end of the month, while room decorating held up. If you post one fall decor video in October, make it a room.

You can run the same check on a hashtag you found in Creative Center, which makes the two tools work together instead of competing.

What happened to Trendpop and Pentos?
Trendpop still shows up in "Creative Center alternatives" lists. On 30 September 2026, trendpop.com redirected to Collab, a creator growth company whose homepage still describes Trendpop but links back to www.trendpop.com, which didn't resolve. We found no sign-up or pricing, so it's not ranked here.
Pentos, once a TikTok trends and music tracker, is also gone. Its domain pentos.co didn't resolve on 30 September, nor on 28 September for our Exolyt check. Some review sites still list its prices. We also left out the TrendTok app, whose App Store listing hadn't been updated since September 2024.
On 30 September 2026 we read every vendor's own pricing and product pages and opened Creative Center signed out in a browser. TikTok's support site returned an error, so Creator Search Insights facts come from our checks of the app and tiktok.com/csi earlier this month. The TikTok data comes from 7 lookups through TokConnect: search topics and hashtags for "fall decor" and "city taste test", and 30-day search lines for three fall decor searches. Searches are TikTok's 7-day figures, global unless a country is named. Topics of 1 million or more with identical rising curves are TikTok's generated labels, not typed searches. We didn't sign up for paid trials, so features behind a login aren't tested.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a free alternative to TikTok Creative Center?
Yes, two from TikTok itself. Creator Search Insights is free in the TikTok app and at tiktok.com/csi, and shows how many people searched a topic in the last 7 days. The Commercial Content Library is free, needs no account, and lets you look up ads by advertiser or keyword.
How do I access the TikTok Creative Center?
Go to ads.tiktok.com/business/creativecenter in a desktop browser. TikTok says a login is not required, but when we checked on 30 September 2026 the signed-out trends page showed only three hashtags, and the full list asked you to log in or sign up with a TikTok for Business account.
Does TikTok Creative Center show search volume?
No. Creative Center shows posts and views for hashtags, and likes, CTR bands and budget levels for top ads. The number of people searching a topic is in Creator Search Insights, which shows 7-day search counts but has no export. Our comparison of the two covers the difference.
What is TikTok Creative Center used for?
It's TikTok's free resource site for advertisers: Top Ads for real ad examples, Trends for trending hashtags by industry and country, and Symphony tools for making and resizing ads. It's built to help you make better ads, not to research what people search for.
What happened to Trendpop?
On 30 September 2026, trendpop.com redirected to Collab, a creator growth company. Collab's homepage still mentions Trendpop but links back to www.trendpop.com, which didn't resolve. We found no way to sign up or see prices.
How do I find TikTok trends without Creative Center?
Look for rising searches, not just big hashtags. Creator Search Insights shows 7-day search counts in the app; tools like Virlo and TickerTrends track hashtags and viral videos daily; and TokConnect answers a question like "what's trending in fall decor this week?" with search numbers and matching videos. Our trend tracker lists this week's rising searches for free.
