The big three: a shopping question, clear skin and birthday nails

Line chart of daily TikTok search readings from 20 to 26 October 2026 for three searches: Where can I buy this product rose from 52,894 to 394,260; no acne zigzagged from 82,358 and jumped to 364,617 on 26 October; 19 nails fell to 13,801 on 21 October, peaked at 368,836 on 24 October and ended at 331,433.

1. "Where can I buy this product", up 645%

"Where can I buy this product" went from 52,894 to 394,260, with 5,535 matching videos. It jumped more than fourfold on Wednesday, wobbled for three days, then set two highs in a row to finish the week.

No clear cause in the news. Our read: this is the sound of shopping season. People see a product in a video, find no link and type the question. Meanwhile tiktok shop made me buy it fell 48% to 326,267. The question is rising while the slogan cools.

The video to make: answer the question before anyone asks it. Product in hand, the store name said out loud in the first three seconds and written on screen, the price, then where you bought it. Say "where to buy" in the voiceover so TikTok search can read it. Fifteen to 25 seconds. For what people are actually buying, see the trending products page.

2. "no acne", up 343%

"no acne" rose from 82,358 to 364,617, with 1,101 videos. It zigzagged all week and did most of its growing on the last day, up 159% on Monday alone.

We found no news behind it, so no clear cause. Our read: it is a goal, not a product. People are typing the result they want and hoping a video shows them how to get there.

Film your real routine instead of a promise. Show the shelf, name each product, say how long you have used it, and skip the before-and-after claims. If your skin story involves a dermatologist, say so. Thirty to 45 seconds, and put "no acne routine" in the caption.

3. "19 nails", up 289%

"19 nails" went from 85,108 to 331,433, with only 499 videos. It is a bumpy line: down to 13,801 on Wednesday, a peak of 368,836 on Saturday, then up 83% on the last day.

The news has no answer, so no clear cause. The videos do: the top two are birthday sets, one captioned "19 boi!!!" with #birthdaynails, the other "Yay birthday nails!!!" with #19. Our read: people turning 19 want their age on their nails, and 499 videos is not many to choose from.

If you do nails, film "your age on your nails": the number painted on one accent nail, a tiny cake or candle on another, the full set held next to the birthday card. Shoot it as a slow reveal, finger by finger. Ten to 20 seconds. Say "19 nails" in the caption, then make the same video for 18, 21 and 30. More sets on the nail trends page.

TikTok's topic labels: a war game, a sweatshirt and a bag of chips

TikTok also writes its own topic labels, which fold many searches into one phrase. Their figures are topic sizes, not searches, so they get their own section.

Horizontal bar chart of four TikTok topic labels that grew most from 20 to 26 October 2026: patricks potato chips up 1,688%, pica meaning up 1,213%, bill belichick sweatshirt up 1,143% and call of duty north korea up 1,079%.

call of duty north korea grew 1,079% to 6,703,088, with 716 videos. This one has a cause. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is set during a North Korean invasion of the South, and its campaign opened to digital pre-orders on 16 October before the full launch on 23 October. The label jumped more than twentyfold on 21 October, between those two dates, and stayed high.

bill belichick sweatshirt grew 1,143% to 6,061,967, with just 120 videos, after a peak of 13,463,464 on Saturday. Belichick's cut-off hoodie is a famous look, and North Carolina gave him one as a welcome gift when he took the job. Why this week: no clear cause.

patricks potato chips is the cleanest line: it rose four days in a row, from 114,834 to 4,438,831. pica meaning grew 1,213% to 2,950,794. No clear cause for either.

Hair Tutorials, second last week, takes the top spot. The one to watch is fantasy bra. The Fantasy Bra was back at this year's Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, worn by Kylie Jenner, and the search went from 1,000,600 to 12,247,472 on Thursday. And two of the top six are people asking what goes into a recipe, each with only about 500 videos. Our read: a plain ingredients-on-screen recipe still has room.

What faded: last week's gossip cools off

nevaeh and nba yb, our top riser last week, fell 68% to 595,378, though its video count grew from 104 to 276. trend do perfume fell 71% to 812,718. my book series fell 55% to 667,800. Our read: gossip burns fast, and BookTok's week went to fantasy instead.

Free idea of the week: tree saddle

TikTok flags tree saddle as a content gap: a topic of 14,401,239 on TikTok's figure with only 340 matching videos. A tree saddle is a climbing harness that lets a hunter sit against the trunk instead of in a stand. Our read: it is hunting season, and plenty of people want to see one used before they buy.

  • Hook: "First time in a tree saddle. Here is everything I got wrong."
  • Format: phone clipped to the tree or a second person filming. Show the gear laid out, the climb, the moment you lean back into the saddle, then one honest mistake. Say "tree saddle" out loud and put it on screen.
  • Length: 30 to 45 seconds. End on "saddle or stand?" to pull comments.

Runner-up: daisy cakes review, at 9,882,456 on TikTok's figure with 160 videos. Follow-up: toyota sequoia 2027, our free idea from early October, had 7,875 videos in our last snapshot and has 13,350 now. For more rows like this, see the content gaps page.
