Your week is sourcing, vetting, briefing and chasing drafts, and the sourcing half runs on a database someone else refreshed on their own schedule. TikTok creator discovery in a stored index gives you follower counts and an engagement rate. It does not tell you whether the last twelve posts still land, or what that creator's audience is typing into TikTok search this week. Both are public, and both are one question away in the chat window you already have open.
What you'd ask on day one
A base-coat brand briefing nail creators. Real prompts, run on 19 September 2026.
The shortlist
Find TikTok creators in the nail niche and give me followers, post count and lifetime likes for each, sorted by followers. Work out likes per post so I can see who is actually being watched.
| Creator | Followers | Posts | Likes per post |
|---|---|---|---|
| @namthipnails5 | 5,562,894 | 1,299 | 123,500 |
| @thenailaddict | 2,975,047 | 1,491 | 52,990 |
| @nail.art_..studio | 1,756,762 | 3,115 | 4,139 |
| @nailmartusa | 1,381,412 | 477 | 177,878 |
| @susiexxi | 646,178 | 167 | 221,748 |
| @nailzbyatzi | 424,347 | 101 | 112,171 |
Forty accounts came back across two searches. @nail.art_..studio makes any shortlist built on follower count. @susiexxi, at a third the size, gets 54 times the likes per post.

What their audience searches
What does the nail audience search for on TikTok this week, and which of those topics have no videos yet? I want brief angles, not hashtags.
| Topic | Searches, 7 days | Videos |
|---|---|---|
| nail care tools and salons | 4,782,434 | 293 |
| nail art plates and tools | 4,778,165 | 0 |
| soap soaking for nail care | 4,761,027 | 0 |
| nail glue and gel extensions | 4,756,320 | 507 |
| nail art terms and meanings | 4,612,438 | 0 |
| nail care and nail growth | 4,047,404 | 0 |
Three searches returned 58 topics. Fifteen of them have no videos matched at all. A brief that names one of those is a brief the creator can win in search, not just in the feed.

The vetting pass
Vet @susiexxi. Pull her profile, her last twelve posts with views and likes, and fifty comments from a recent one. Is the audience real, and what do they ask about?
- Profile: 646,300 followers, 167 videos, 37M lifetime likes, following 14 accounts. That follower figure is 122 higher than the creator search returned minutes earlier, which is what live rather than indexed looks like.
- Last 12 posts (5 April to 11 September 2026): median 78,450 views, median 11,350 likes. Best 491,300 views, worst 28,700. Two to three a month, longest gap 37 days.
- Read that against the headline. Lifetime likes per post says 221,748. Recent posts say 11,350. The account grew on older videos, so price on the recent number.
- Comments, 46 pulled from a post with 118: 21 contain a question. 16 name a product, brand or material: "Is the jello jello Brand goood?", "what's the name of your uv lamp??", "would you say dual forms or gel-x is your preference?"
That last line is the case for this creator. Her audience turns up asking which products she used.

A video count of zero does not mean nobody has filmed a nail tutorial. It means TikTok has matched no videos to that exact topic, and that zero is the signal behind its content-gap badge. What the badge means.
What it replaces
| What you do today | Tool | What it shows | What TokConnect adds |
|---|---|---|---|
| Filter a creator index by follower band and engagement rate | Modash ($199 or $499/mo, metered in opened profiles and email unlocks) | 380M+ stored profiles, audience data, contact emails | Live counts pulled when you ask, plus the search demand behind the brief. Not a replacement for the index or the emails |
| Run discovery inside the CRM you pay for | Grin (free tier, then $200 to $1,500/mo), Favikon ($159 to $299/mo) | Creator search, outreach, contracts, product seeding, reporting | The angle, not the workflow: which topics this audience searches, and which have no videos |
| Book a demo and wait for a quote | Upfluence, CreatorIQ (quote only; Upfluence's page states a 12-month minimum) | Enterprise discovery, measurement and EMV reporting | $0 to start, 100 credits, no card and no call |
| Search TikTok One for creators who opted in | TikTok One (free, needs an Ads Manager account) | First-party profiles, audience data and campaign booking for marketplace opt-ins | Everyone else. Public TikTok search reaches creators who never joined the marketplace |
| Browse a marketplace of self-listed creators | Collabstr (free to browse, then $299 or $399/mo plus a fee) | Creators who signed up and set their own rates | Discovery that does not depend on a creator listing themselves |
| Open twelve tabs and scroll a profile by hand | TikTok, and a spreadsheet | Everything, one screen at a time | Profile, last twelve posts with counts, and fifty comments in three calls |
Prices from each vendor's own pricing page, checked 19 September 2026. Collabstr's page blocks fetching, so that row is from a secondary source.
How it fits your week
- Connect once. Sign in, copy your key, paste one config block into the assistant your team already uses. Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and Gemini all work. The connect page has the steps, and Claude Desktop takes about two minutes.
- Ask while you build the brief. Topic demand before the creative angle, vetting before the rate conversation. No new dashboard, no seat licences.
- Save the answer. Paste the vetting table into the creator's row in your tracker with the date. Recent-post medians age fast, and a dated table is the evidence behind the rate you agreed.
The figures come from TikTok's own Creator Search Insights and from TikTok search, pulled live at the moment you ask. Search popularity is searches over the last seven days, global unless a country is picked; the video count is how many videos TikTok lists for that topic; follower, view and like counts are the public numbers on the profile. Full definitions.
What it does not do: no contact emails, no DMs, no outreach sequences, no contracts, no campaign tracking, no per-creator demographics. It does not post, run ads, pull transcripts or touch anything behind a login. It reads what TikTok already shows in public, and it is not affiliated with TikTok.
Straight answers
Because they do different jobs. Your database builds the list and holds the emails. This answers what none of them report: what the audience in that niche is searching for, and whether a creator's last twelve posts match the headline number on their profile. If you only ever needed one, keep the database.
Fair, and the metering gives it away: you buy "opened profiles" from a stored index. Here a call goes to TikTok when you make it. The counts on this page were pulled the day it was published, and the snapshot under each table carries the timestamp.
Section 5 of TikTok's terms prohibits automated collection, and it is worth reading. TokConnect runs its own infrastructure and you connect with a TokConnect key. It never touches your ad account, your brand login, or anything private belonging to a creator, and it never posts or messages. That is the honest shape of it, and it is not legal advice.
True of sounds and formats. Category search demand moves slower, and you get the seven-day series, so you can see whether a topic is climbing before you commit a brief to it. Rerun it the week the creator films, for one credit.
The plan that fits
One tool call is one credit, and a new account gets 100 free with no card. A full vetting pass is three credits per creator: profile, last twelve posts, one comment read. Building a campaign from scratch runs roughly 100 to 150, counting two creator searches, forty profile opens, fifteen deep vetting passes and the topic work. Do that for four brands a month with a weekly topic refresh and you are near 700. Growth at $99 for 3,000 credits leaves room for the campaigns where you screen a few hundred creators instead of forty. One brand, one campaign a month, Starter at $49 for 1,000 is enough. Both are month to month, which is more than a twelve-month minimum offers. Compare the plans.
Guides for influencer marketing teams
- Find TikTok influencers: the search-to-shortlist method, and the profile fields worth filtering on.
- TikTok audience insights: age and country breakdowns for a topic, so a brief can name a market.
- Creator Search Insights: what every number in TikTok's own tool means.
- Export TikTok comments: reading a comment section properly is most of a vetting pass.
- TikTok trend research: telling a rising topic from one that already peaked, before it goes in a brief.
- TikTok competitor analysis: which creators a rival brand works with, and what those posts did.
Questions influencer marketing teams ask
Is this a creator database?
No. There is no stored index, no contact emails, no outreach sequences and no campaign tracking. Modash, Grin, Upfluence, Favikon and CreatorIQ all sell you a periodically refreshed index and the workflow around it. This reads TikTok's public search live and adds the one thing none of them report: what the audience in a niche is typing into TikTok search. Keep your database for list building.
TikTok One is free. Why would I pay for this?
Use it. TikTok One replaced the Creator Marketplace, which stopped taking new campaigns in March 2025, and it is first-party and free. It covers creators who opted in to the marketplace. Public TikTok search covers everyone, and TikTok One does not show search demand or content gaps for the topics you are briefing against.
How current are the follower and view counts?
They are pulled at the moment you ask, not read from an index. The profile and post figures on this page were pulled on 19 September 2026 and the saved response is linked under each table, with the tool name, the arguments and the date.
Can I see audience demographics for a creator?
Not per creator. Age and country breakdowns are available for search topics, not for individual accounts, and there is no email or contact data at all. If a media plan needs verified per-creator demographics, that is what TikTok One and the paid databases are for.
